Midview Football to visit North Olmsted in Week 2

Who: Midview High School (1-0, 0-0 SWC) and North Olmsted High School (0-1, 0-0 CWC)

What: Week 2 OHSAA Non-Conference Varsity Football Game

Where: North Olmsted High School's Drive Morris Stadium (27301 Butternut Ridge Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070)

When: Kickoff is Friday (August 29) at 7 p.m.

Tickets: Adult tickets are $8 and can be purchased online at https://www.payschoolsevents.com/events/register/40074/85050 or via cash at the gate. Student (K-12) tickets are cash only and $6 at the gate. In addition, senior citizens (60+) can purchase $5 tickets via cash at the gate. Children under 5 are free.

Haltime Performance: The Midview High School Marching Blue will perform first followed by the North Olmsted High School marching band.

Last Meeting: The Middies defeated the visiting Eagles 14-0 in Week 2 of the 2024 campaign. Senior Dior Jones broke open a scoreless game with a 69-yard punt return for a touchdown midway through the third quarter. Senior Cameron West added a three-yard rushing TD with 3:10 to play in the game. Senior Ethan Morris connected on both extra points. Then-junior Brayden Homoki collected a team-high 19 total tackles. Overall, Midview out-gained North Olmsted 306-213, including 265-90 on the ground.

2024 Records: Midview finished 5-6 overall and 2-5 in the Southwestern Conference, while North Olmsted went 5-6 overall and 5-2 in the Cleveland West Conference. The Middies lost 31-14 at Padua Franciscan High School in the first round of the OHSAA Division III playoffs. The Eagles lost 47-12 to eventual State Champion Avon High School in round one of the OHSAA Division II playoffs.

Midview's Last Game: Senior running back Marcus McMahon posted the third-best single-game rushing performance in school history with a 24-carry, 257-yard and 4-TD effort in a 48-14 win over host Westlake High School. Senior quarterback Shay Williams threw for two scores and ran for another, while senior Braden Armold led the defense with 10 total stops in the win. [Recap].

North Olmsted's Last Game: North Olmsted High School dropped its season opener 41-0 to host North Ridgeville High School.

Midview Head Coach: Head Coach Jack Armstrong is 10-13 as he enters his third season leading the Middies. Armstrong, a 2012 graduate of Midview High School, is a Special Education Coordinator at his alma mater and had served as a varsity assistant coach with the Middies for six of the previous seven seasons before taking over. He is the just the eighth coach in program history, which dates back to the consolidation of Belden, Eaton and Grafton high schools in 1955.

North Olmsted Head Coach: Head Coach Tim Brediger is 56-63 in his 13th year leading the Eagles.

Midview Stat Leaders: Senior Marcus McMahon has 24 carries for 257 yards and 4 TDs. Senior Shay Williams has completed 6-of-10 passes for 121 yards and 2 TDs. Defensively, senior Braden Armold has a team-high 10 total tackles, while sophomore Ian Regan had an interception and senior Brayden Homoki blocked a punt in week 1.
