Midview Football to wrap up regular season at Olmsted Falls

Where: Olmsted Falls High School's Vitamix Field at Charles Harding Memorial Stadium (26939 Bagley Road, Olmsted Falls, OH 44138)
When: Kickoff is Friday (October 25) at 7 p.m.
Tickets: Adult Tickets are $8 and Students (K-12) are $6. Everyone Kindergarten age to 59 years of age must have a ticket in order to enter. In addition, Midview Local School and Olmsted Falls City School employee IDs and SWC passes will be accepted.
Haltime Performance: The Midview High School Marching Blue will perform first followed by the Olmsted Falls High School marching band.
Last Meeting: The Middies suffered a 49-31 defeat to visiting Olmsted Falls High School in Week 10 of the 2024 season. Ethan Elbert completed 14-of-31 passes for 130 yards, while running 24 times for 158 yards and a TD. Dane West had a team-high 4 receptions for 38 yards, while Connor Rose added 3 carries for 41 yards and a TD. Hunter Anderson finished with a team-best 12 total stops, and Dior Jones had an 89-yard kickoff return for a TD in the loss.
2023 Records: Midview finished 4-7 overall and 2-5 in the Southwestern Conference, while Olmsted Falls went 9-4 overall and 4-3 in the SWC. The Middies lost 49-7 at Highland High School in the first round of the OHSAA Division II Playoffs. The Bulldogs defeated Clay High School 40-12 in Week 11 and Sylvania Southview High School 35-28 in Week 12 before falling to Avon High School 33-23 in the Regional semifinal of the OHSAA Division II playoffs.
Midview's Last Game: The Middies ran past host Elyria High School 49-7 in Week 9. Junior Michael Passerrello Jr. and senior Dior Jones both had two touchdowns, while junior Marcus McMahon (rushing), senior Cameron West (defensive) and sophomore Jace Wright (rushing) each added another score. Olmsted Falls' Last Game: The Bulldogs fell 35-14 to visiting rival Berea-Midpark High School in Week 9.
Midview Head Coach: Head Coach Jack Armstrong is now 9-9 in his second season leading the Middies. Armstrong, a 2012 graduate of Midview High School, is a Special Education Coordinator at his alma mater and has served as a varsity assistant coach with the Middies for six of the previous seven seasons before taking over. He is the just the eighth coach in program history, which dates back to the consolidation of Belden, Eaton and Grafton high schools in 1955.
Olmsted Falls Head Coach: Veteran Head Coach Tom Deluca is 85-49 in his 12th year leading the Bulldogs' football program.
Midview Stat Leaders: Junior quarterback Shay Williams completed 51-of-96 (53.1%) passes and threw for 675 yards with 4 TDs and 4 INTs before an injury ended his season. He also had 86 carries for 347 yards and 2 TDs. Junior Marcus McMahon has 65 carries for 227 yards and 5 TDs, and junior Michael Passerrello Jr. has 71 carries for 358 yards and 4 TDs. Senior Dior Jones leads the receving corps with 24 catches for 513 yards and 3 TDs, while senior Cross Wervey has 18 grabs for 159 yards and McMahon has added 11 catches for 104 yards and 1 TD. Jones (2) and Passerrello Jr. (1) have combined for 3 special teams TDs this season. Junior Brayden Homoki leads the team with 136 total tackles, while junior Michael Passerrello Jr. has added 80 total tackles on the year. Midview Returning Lettermen: Midview returned 17 letterwinners from a year ago, including All-SWC first team junior running back/defensive back Michael Passerrello Jr.
SWC Non-Conference Success: The 8 SWC teams combined to go 17-7 over the first three weeks against non-league opponents. [Standings]
Playoffs Outlook: Midview currently sits 11th in Division III Region 10, while Olmsted Falls is 9th in Division II Region 6 through week 6 of the season. The top 16 of each region once again make the playoffs in 2024. Drew Pasteur's Fantastic 50 projects that Olmsted Falls has already clinched a playoff birth, while the Middies have likely locked up a playoff berth but need to win their final game to secure a home match-up in Week 11.
