Midview Football drops regular season finale at Olmsted Falls 31-10

Midview Varsity Football wrapped up its regular season with a 31-10 loss at Olmsted Falls High School Friday (October 25) evening.

The Middies (5-5, 2-5 SWC) took an early 3-0 lead by way of a 47-yard field goal from senior Ethan Morris with 8:02 to play in the the first quarter. The Bulldogs (7-3, 4-3 SWC) answered with a short touchdown run to take the 7-3 advantage two minutes later. They then added a field goal on the first place of the second quarter to extend their lead to 10-3. Midview, however, answered on its next play from scrimmage as senior quarterback Cody Martin found classmate Camden Scott in stride for an 80-yard touchdown strike to even the score at 10 with 11:42 to play in the half.

Olmsted Falls regained the lead with a 62-yard TD run and entered the half ahead 17-10. The Bulldogs added a pair of TD runs in the second half enroute to the 31-10 win.

Martin completed 19-of-30 passes and threw for 278 yards and a TD. Scott pulled in 7 receptions for 142 yards and a score. Senior Cameron West led the ground attack with 7 carries for 28 yards. Defensively, junior Brayden Homoki compiled a game-high 19 total stops, while classmate Michael Passerrello Jr. added 10 tackles against the run-heavy Bulldogs.

The Middies earned the No. 10 seed in the upcoming OHSAA Division III Regional Tournament. They will begin tournament play at No. 7 Padua Franciscan High School on Friday (November 1) with a kickoff at 7 p.m.
