Midview Football travels to Berea-Midpark in Week 5
Who: Midview High School (3-1, 0-1 SWC) and Berea-Midpark High School (3-1, 1-0 SWC)
What: Week 4 OHSAA Southwestern Conference Varsity Football Game
Where: Tressel Field at George Finnie Stadium on the campus of Baldwin Wallace University (141 E Bagley Rd, Berea, OH 44017)
When: Kickoff is Friday (September 19) at 7 p.m.
Who Needs a Ticket: Everyone Kindergarten age to 59 years of age must have a ticket in order to enter. Senior Citizens (60+) are admitted free regardless of where they live. In addition, staff IDs of both schools and SWC passes will be accepted at any gate.

Haltime Performance: The Midview High School Marching Blue will perform first followed by the Berea-Midpark High School marching band.
Last Meeting: The Middies defeated the visiting Titans 16-7 in a rain-soaked Homecoming game on September 27, 2024. With the weather affecting the passing game, the Middies relied on their rushing attack to rack up 229 yards on the ground. Shay Williams gained 123 yards on 19 carries and Marcus McMahon contributed 10 rushes for 45 yards. Brayden Homoki had a team-best 15 stops in the win.
2024 Records: Midview finished 5-6 overall and 2-5 in the Southwestern Conference, while Berea-Midpark went 4-8 overall and 2-5 in the SWC.
2024 Playoffs: The Middies lost 31-14 at Padua Franciscan High School in the first round of the OHSAA Division III playoffs. The Titans defeated Lorain High School 30-6 before falling to Perrysburg High School 25-14 in round two of the OHSAA Division I playoffs.
Midview's Last Game: The previously unnbeaten Middies jumped out to 7-0 advantage on a trick play, only for visiting Avon Lake High School to dominate the scoreboard the rest of the way en route to the 39-7 Shoremen win in week 4. Senior Shay Williams connected on 16-of-31 passes and threw for 182 yards. He also ran 13 times for 39 yards. Senior Zachary Wallace caught a team-high 6 passes for 158 yards and the score, while junior Brennen Newton had 7 grabs for 83 yards to go along with his 80-yard TD pass. [Recap].
Berea-Midpark's Last Game: The Titans scored a late touchdown to defeat host Amherst Stelee High School 20-19 in week 4. Backup quarterback Dylan Papushak completed 13-of-23 passes and threw for 167 yards and two TDs. Dylan Maddox and 7 catches for 122 yards in the win.
Midview Head Coach: Head Coach Jack Armstrong is 12-14 as he enters his third season leading the Middies. Armstrong, a 2012 graduate of Midview High School, is a Special Education Coordinator at his alma mater and had served as a varsity assistant coach with the Middies for six of the previous seven seasons before taking over. He is the just the eighth coach in program history, which dates back to the consolidation of Belden, Eaton and Grafton high schools in 1955.
Berea-Midpark Head Coach: Head Coach Jon Hudek is 46-55 in his 10th year leading the Titans.
Midview Stat Leaders: Senior Marcus McMahon has 85 carries for 515 yards and 8 TDs. He has also caught 6 passes for 88 yards and 1 TD. Senior Shay Williams has completed 45-of-77 passes (58.4%) for 724 yards and 6 TDs while also rushing 30 times for 146 yards and 2 TDs. Senior Zachary Wallace has a team-best 17 catches for 300 yards and 3 TDs, while junior Brennen Newton has 13 grabs for 230 yards and 3 TDs. Defensively, senior Brayden Homoki has 49 total tackles, senior Braden Armold has 31 stops and junior Sawyer McMillin has 24. Senior Kaiden Vonya is 16-of-18 in extra-point attempts this season.
Midview Returning Lettermen: Midview returns 19 letterwinners from a year ago, including a trio of two-year lettermen in Brayden Homoki, Leo Swirynsky and Zachary Wallace.
SWC Non-Conference Success: The 8 SWC teams combined to go 14-10 over the first three weeks against non-league opponents. [Standings]
Playoff Outlook: Midview currently sits eighth in Division III Region 10, while Berea-Midpark is third in Division I Region 1 through week 4 of the season. The top 12 of each region make the playoffs in 2025.
