Bio
Brittney McNamara-Cole begins her fifth season as the Head Girls Basketball Coach in 2025-26. Her record with the Middies is 56-40 and her career record is 75-61.
McNamara led the Middies to the first District and Regional Championship in program history in 2022-23.
McNamara is no stranger to Midview, having served as the Head Coach at Southwestern Conference (SWC) rival Berea-Midpark High School the previous two seasons. Prior to her first head coaching job with the Titans, McNamara was a varsity assistant coach for four seasons at Trinity High School. She began her coaching career as the junior varsity coach with Mayfield High School in 2014.
McNamara, who is also active on the AAU circuit with family-owned Mac Basketball, is confident that her experience as a player and coach will help Midview reach new heights on the court.
“I want to build a family atmosphere where the players love each other,” McNamara said. “I want to build a program that celebrates all parts of the journey. With hard work and dedication, I believe we can win the SWC, a district championship and ultimately compete for a state title.”
McNamara was a two-time All-Ohio standout and the 2013 Lorain County Player of the Year while a student at Elyria Catholic. The Panthers basketball team made it to the OHSAA Final Four during her sophomore year. She is the All-time leader at Elyria Catholic in three-pointers made in a season (59), career (121) and game (8).
“I’ve been mentored by the best, McNamara said. “My Dad and Coach Rothgery have seen it all. They've built programs that I have been a part of as a player. I know what it takes to compete. I know the effort it takes to win. I've been there and done that and now want to make the Midview program my own.”
McNamara, a preschool teacher in the Fairview school system, lives in Rocky River with her husband Brad Cole.
