History made in Midview Girls Basketball's loss to North Ridgeville
Midview Varsity Girls Basketball hosted rival North Ridgeville High School in a memorable Southwestern Conference match-up Saturday (January 31) on Troy DiFranco Court inside Kubuski Gymnasium. The Rangers won 64-58 but it could not dampen the celebration after for a pair of individual achievements by Middie seniors.
Leah DiFranco became just the third Middie in program history to eclipse the 1,000 point mark in a career. The guard, who entered with 991 points, drilled a three-pointer early in the second quarter for the feat as part of a team-best 19-point performance. DiFranco joined her cousin Olivia DiFranco '24 (1,157) and Jane Rader '80 (1,115) on the elite list.
Senior Hunter Crum also further etched her name in the record books by hitting four three-pointers and finishing with 12 points. Crum, the career and single-game record holder, broke her own single-season record for three-point field goals in a season by upping her 2026 total to 44 and counting.
Sophomore Jacinta Miller took on a bigger role Saturday due to an injury and added 16 key points to keep the Middies close to the Rangers throughout.
The Middies (6-14. 4-9 SWC) visits Avon High School on Wednesday (February 3) at 7 p.m.
