Leah DiFranco leads Middies past Vermilion 58-44 at DiFranco Classic

Midview High School junior standout Leah DiFranco produced a record-breaking 33-point effort in a 58-44 victory over visiting Vermilion High School Wednesday (November 27) at the 24th DiFranco Classic.

DiFranco broke the previouse record of 32 points, which was set by Lorain High School's Devon Grant against Euclid in 2018. She connected on 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, while adding 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals in the win. Junior Hunter Crum contributed 3 three-pointers and 11 points and 6 rebounds, while freshman Leila Morgan had 8 points and 11 boards for the home team.

The Middies (1-1) return to action Monday (December 2) against visiting Brunswick High School. Varsity tip-off is at 7 p.m.
