Midview will battle Archbishop Hoban in first ever Regional Semifinal appearance on February 28

What: OHSAA Division I Girls Basketball Region 1 Semifinal

Who: Midview High School (21-4) vs. Archbishop Hoban High School (17-9)

When: Tuesday (February 28) at 8 p.m.

Where: Medina High School (777 E Union Street, Medina, OH 44256)

Tickets: Tickets are $10 for Adults and $8 for Students and sold exclusively online at http://ohsaa.org/tickets. [Basketball --> Girls Basketball -->Division I] Children under 5 are admitted free. No tickets sold at the door. Your ticket will grant you access to the games at both 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

What's at Stake: The winner advances to the OHSAA Division I Regional Final at Medina High School on Saturday (March 4) at 7 p.m. The opponent will be Solon High School or Canton McKinley High School, who play at Medina HS prior to Midview's game on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Last Meeting: There have been no known meetings between Midview and Hoban in girls basketball.

History at Work: Midview Girls Basketball has now won a school-record 21 games in 2022-23. The Middies are making their first ever Regional appearance in Girls Basketball. Junior Olivia DiFranco has set a single-season school record for points scored (443), field goal attempts (441) and free throws made (99). She also scored her 1,000th career point in the District Semifinals and is just 76 shy of the school's all-time record, set by Jane Rader (1,115) in 1980. Senior Mary Meng has set a single-season school record for most rebounds (412) and most fields goals made (170) as well as the single-game record for rebounds (28) so far this season. As a team, the Middies have reached new heights in wins (21) and points scored (1281) this season and are quickly approaching many other long-standing records.
