Geyer and Wirth to compete at OHSAA Division II Track and Field Championship on June 6

What: OHSAA Division II Boys and Girls Track & Field Championship

Who: Midview and the other Top 5 Individuals and Relays plus the next 3 best performances from the Lexington, North Royalton and Troy Regionals

When: Saturday (June 6) and Sunday (June 7)

Where: Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of The Ohio State University (2450 Fred Taylor Dr, Columbus, OH 4321)

Midview Qualifiers: Senior Isabel Geyer (Shot Put) and junior Jeffrey Wirth (Discus Throw) will compete in their events on June 6 at 1 p.m.

Geyer's Regional Performance: Isabel Geyer entered the regional ranked fifth in the Shot Put. Her best throw was her first attempt of the prelims, a 37-08.50 mark, which enabled her to advance to the finals and ultimately place sixth. Once the regional results were compiled, Geyer earned the first at-large berth.

Geyer's State Outlook: Isabel Geyer is the 12th seed among the 18 OHSAA Division II qualifiers in the Shot Put. Her season-best (and personal best) 39-03.00 peformances ranks her 10th amongst the performers this season.

Wirth's Regional Performance: Jeffrey Wirth was the region's fourth-ranked performer in the Discus Throw. His top mark was his last throw of the final (162-08), which placed him eighth at the regional. Fortunately, all three at-large qualifiers came from North Royalton. That enabled Wirth to earn the third and final spot.

Wirth's State Outlook: Jeffrey Wirth is the 11th seed among the 18 OHSAA Division II qualifiers in the Discus Throw. His season-best (and personal best) 169-8 throw at the Bell Invitational ranks sixth amongst the competitiors this season.

State Meet Traffic and Parking Advisory: Guests coming to Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium for the state track and field meet should use State Route 315 and either the Ackerman Road exit or the Lane Avenue exit. For reference, Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium is located at 2450 Fred Taylor Drive, Columbus, Ohio. Please follow the direction of the traffic and parking attendants for the nearest available parking, which will be free in identified lots both days of the state tournament. In other lots, a parking fee will apply, payable by credit card.

Adult Tickets are $16 and Student Tickets are $10.
