Football season continues with Week 7 match-up at home against North Ridgeville

Who: Midview High School (2-4, 0-3 SWC) and North Ridgeville High School (5-1, 2-1 SWC)

What: Week 7 OHSAA Division II Region 6 Southwestern Conference Varsity Football Game

Where: Ross Field at Adeslberg Stadium (38199 Capel Road, Grafton, OH 44044)

When: Kickoff is Friday (September 29) at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Tickets: All Tickets are General Admission and $8. Everyone Kindergarten age to 59 years of age must have a ticket in order to enter. Senior Citizens (60+) are also now admitted free regardless of where they live. Presale Tickets are available here: https://midview.hometownticketing.com/embed/all A credit card reader will also be available at both the Pass Gate and the Middle School entrance for walk-up tickets. Cash Sales exclusively at the Pass Gate. In addition, Midview Local School and North Ridgeville High School employee IDs and SWC passes will be accepted.

Specator Note: All kids in attendance will be expected to sit in the stands with their parents or in the assigned student sections. Spectators are prohibited from bringing sporting equipment (footballs, basketballs, etc.) inside Adelsberg Stadium during Varsity Football Games. They will be turned away at the gate. Alcohol and Smoking are also prohibited on the campus of Midview Local Schools.

Special Events: Week 7 will feature our Mini Cheerleaders. Over 100 young Middies will join our high school cheerleaders on the sideline for the first half. They will showcase what they learned during a three-day camp earlier in the week.

Halftime Performance: The North Ridgeville Marching Band will perform first, followed by the Midview High School Marching Blue.

Concessions: The Midview Band Boosters will once again sponsor all concessions during Midview Varsity Football home games.

Last Meeting: North Ridgeville topped visiting Midview 24-7 in Week 7 of the 2022 campaign. Then senior Ethan Beitel completed 11-of-26 passes and threw for 200 yards and 1 TD. He also led the running attack with 15 carries for 25 yards. Dane West had a team-high 6 receptions for 79 yards. Then senior Alex Swirynsky paced the defense with 14 total tackles, including 3 for loss.

2022 Records: Midview finished 2-8 overall and 1-6 in the Southwestern Conference, while North Ridgeville went 5-6 overall and 2-5 in the league play. The Rangers qualified for the postseason and fell 21-16 at Anthony Wayne High School in the first round of the OHSAA Division II playoffs.

New Era: Head Coach Jack Armstrong takes the reins of Midview Football in 2023-24. He was promoted to Head Coach on May 31. Armstrong, a 2012 graduate of Midview High School, is a Special Education teacher at his alma mater and has served as a varsity assistant coach with the Middies for six of the last seven seasons. He becomes the just the eighth coach in program history, which dates back to the consolidation of Belden, Eaton and Grafton high schools in 1955.

Midview's Last Game: The Middies were held under 100 yards of total offense in a 37-0 loss at Berea-Midpark High School.

North Ridgeville's Last Game: The Rangers defeated host Elyria High School 35-11.

Midview Stat Leaders: Senior quarterback Ethan Elbert has completed 66-of-135 (48.9%) passes and thrown for 1011 yards and 7 TDs and 6 INTs. He also has 64 carries for 198 yards and 3 more TDs. Sophomore Michael Passerrello Jr. has added 35 carries for 161 yards and a TD on the ground. Midview's top three receivers are junior Cameron West (18 receptions for 224 yards and 1 TD), senior Dane West (14 receptions for 198 yards and 1 TD) and junior Dior Jones (14 receptions for 425 yards and 4 TDs). Junior Wyatt Lehman has a team-high 48 total tackles.
