Midview Football Travels to North Olmsted for Week 2

What: Week 2 OHSAA Non-Conference Varsity Football Game
Where: North Olmsted High School Stadium (27301 Butternut Ridge Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070)
When: Kickoff is Friday (August 25) at 7 p.m.
Tickets: Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.payschoolsevents.com/events/org/north-olmsted-athletics. The Great Lakes Conference tickets prices are $8.00 General Admission. Children under 5 will be granted admission for free. Midview Staff IDs will admit that person into the game. North Olmsted will also accept 2023-24 SWC passes.
Haltime Performance: The Midview High School Marching Blue will perform first, followed by the North Olmsted High School Marching Band.
Last Meeting: North Olmsted defeated visiting Midview 48-45 in the first round of the OHSAA Division II playoffs on October 9, 2020. Ethan Surdock completed 22-of-39 passes while throwing for 320 yards and 3 touchdowns while also running 27 times for 124 yards and two more scores in the loss.
2022 Records: Midview finished 2-8 overall and 1-6 in the Southwestern Conference, while North Olmsted went 8-4 overall and 1-4 in the Great Lakes Conference. The Eagles defeated Valley Forge 42-34 in the first round of the OHSAA Division II Playoffs before falling to Highland 49-7 the following week.
New Era: Head Coach Jack Armstrong takes the reins of Midview Football in 2023-24. He was promoted to Head Coach on May 31. Armstrong, a 2012 graduate of Midview High School, is a Special Education teacher at his alma mater and has served as a varsity assistant coach with the Middies for six of the last seven seasons. He becomes the just the eighth coach in program history, which dates back to the consolidation of Belden, Eaton and Grafton high schools in 1955.
Midview's Last Game: Midview dropped its season-opener 42-28 at Westlake High School on August 18. Senior quarterback Ethan Elbert connected on 11-of-26 passing attempts and throwing for 245 yards and 3 TDs. He also gained 81 yards on 12 rushing attempts with another TD. Junior wideout Dior Jones caught 5 passes for 172 yards and 2 TD. Senior Gabe Borror and sophomore Michael Passerrello Jr. paced the defense with 11 and 10 total tackles, respectively.
North Olmsted's Last Game: The Eagles lost their season-opener 45-7 at North Ridgeville High School on August 18.

Next Week: Midview continues non-league play at home against Elyria Catholic High School in Week 3. It will be Youth Football Night inside Adelsberg Stadium. North Olmsted plays host to Amherst High School. Both games are on September 1 at 7 p.m.
