Midview heads to Avon Lake in Week 6

Who: Midview High School (2-3, 1-1 SWC) and Avon Lake High School (4-1, 1-1 SWC)

What: Week 6 OHSAA Division II Region VI and Southwestern Conference Varsity Football Game

Where: Avon Lake Memorial Stadium (175 Avon Belden Rd, Avon Lake, OH 44012)

When: Kickoff is Friday (September 23) at 7 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Tickets: All Tickets are General Admission and $7. Everyone Kindergarten age or older must have a ticket in order to enter. Presale Tickets are available exclusively here: https://avonlakecityschools.hometownticketing.com/embed/all No cash sales at the door. They will have QR codes and iPads for anyone having trouble but DO NOT have a credit card readers like we do at home games. In addition, Midview Local School and Avon Lake City School employee IDs and SWC passes will be accepted.

Halftime Performance: The Midview High School Marching Blue will perform first, followed by the Avon Lake High School Marching Band.

Last Meeting: Midview upset visiting Avon Lake 24-21 in Week 6 of the 2021 season on September 24.

2021 Records: Midview finished 3-7 overall and 3-4 in the Southwestern Conference, while Avon Lake went 7-4 overall and 4-3 in the SWC. The Shoremen dropped their first round playoff game at home to St. John Jesuit 34-13.

Last Game: Midview scored a touchdown with 9 seconds left to defeat visiting Amherst Steele High School 28-21 and snap a three-game losing streak. Avon Lake, meanwhile, bounced back from its first loss of the year to top host Berea-Midpark High School 35-21.

Next Week: Midview welcome SWC rival Berea-Midpark High School for a Homecoming match-up on Ross Field at Adelsberg Stadium, while Avon Lake travels to Amherst Steele High School on September 30. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. with festivities starting at 6:30 p.m.

Detour: Route 83 is closed right in front of the high school. The South lot, which gets you directly to the stadium, is still accessible if driving North to the school. The North lot, which would consist of a short walk to the stadium, is accessible if coming from the opposite direction. You just can't drive past the South lot and get into the North lot or vice versa.
