Midview Baseball drops regular season finale to Nordonia

Midview Varsity Baseball dropped its final postseason tune-up 5-4 to visiting Nordonia High School on Tuesday (May 19) evening.

The Middies and Knights, who both finished with seven hits, matched each other with three-run third innings and one-run fifth frames, before the visitors went ahead for good with a single run in the sixth.

Juniors Benjamin Szczepanski and Jake Ellis posted two hits apiece. Szczepanski had a two-run triple and Ellis contributed a RBI double and RBI single.

Senior Daniel Melendez suffered the loss after allowing one run on two hits over the final two and one-third innings.

The Middies (11-15) will visit Gilmour Academy for an OHSAA Division III Sectional Final match-up on Thursday (May 21) at 5 p.m.
