Amherst blanks Midview Baseball 8-0

Midview Varsity Baseball suffered an 8-0 Soutwestern Conference loss to host Amherst Steele High School on Monday (May 11) evening.

The Middies held the defending OHSAA Division II runner-up Comets to just a single run over the first four innings. That run came in the bottom of the first. Amherst, however, broke through with a six-run fifth and then plated another run in the sixth.

Midview's offense, meanwhile, was limited to a one hit. It was a single by junior Jake Ellis, the third batter of the game.

Senior Damien Presser (2-3) was tagged with the loss after allowing seven runs on nine hits with nine walks and five strikeouts over four-plus innings.

The Middies and Comets will complete their series on the Midview turf Tuesday (May 12) at 4:45 p.m.
