Midview Baseball defeats Stow-Munroe Falls 4-3
Midview Varsity Baseball earned a 4-3, non-conference victory over visiting Stow-Munroe Falls High School Saturday (May 2) on the MHS turf.
Junior Luke Jockel (2-3) limited the Bulldogs to three runs (two earned) on three hits with one walk and six strikeouts over five innings to earn the win. Jockel also collected two of the Middies' five hits, including a two-run double in the fourth to extend their lead to 4-1.
Stow plated an unearned run in the first to take the early advantage. Midview tied the game on an error in the second and took the lead on a RBI double by junior Jake Ellis in the third. The Bulldogs made it 4-3 in the fifth. However, senior Bryce Schubert picked up the save by scattering one hit and two walks with four strikeouts over the final two frames to secure his team's win.
The Middies (8-9, 4-5 SWC) remain home on Monday (May 4) for a Senior Day match-up against Olmsted Falls High School at 4:45 p.m.
