Presser no-hits Elyria in 11-0 victory for Midview Baseball
Midview Varsity Baseball produced a pair of historic feats while defeating visiting Elyria High School 11-0 in Southwestern Conference action on Monday (April 27) evening.
Senior Damien Presser (2-1) no-hit the Pioneers while walking two and striking out six over the five inning game. It was the program's first no-hitter since David Moore '24 achieved the feat against rival North Ridgeville in 2024.
In addition, senior Kaiden Vogelpohl launched the first home run of the new facility to cap off an eight-run first inning for the Middies.
Midview got on the board when junior Jake Ellis delivered a bases loaded single and two more runs scored on an error during the play. Presser, junior Jake Derringer and junior Seth Randall then hit back-to-back-to-back RBI doubles before Vogelpohl's two-run home run deep over the left field fence. Presser added a RBI when he reached on an error in the second, junior Benjamin Szczepanski contributed a RBI single in the third and junior Luke Jockel drove in the final run of the game with a groundout in the fourth.
Randall, Vogelpohl, Ellis and Szczepanski all had two of Midview's 12 hits in the win.
The two teams will return to action at Ely Stadium on Tuesday (April 28) at 4:45 p.m.
