Midview Baseball tops Avon 6-3

Midview Varsity Baseball defeated visiting Avon High School 6-3 in Southwestern Conference action Tuesday (April 21) evening to avenge a tough loss from the previous night.

Junior Benjamin Szczepanski (2-0) limited the Eagles to just one unearned run over the first five innings to earn the win. He scatted three hits and three walks while striking out six. Szczepanski's outing enable the Middie offense to find its footing.

Junior Seth Randall delivered a RBI single in the bottom of the first. Midview then plated five runs in the third. Junior Samuel Linden had a two-run single, and junior Lucas Hendershot added a RBI hit in the inning.

Avon made things interesting when it scored two runs with two outs in the top of the seventh. However, junior Jake Ellis, who had two of the team's seven hits, entered with the bases loaded and got the strikeout to scure the save.

Midview (3-7, 2-5 SWC) will visit Buckeye High School for a non-league game on Wednesday (April 22) at 5 p.m.
