Varsity Baseball defeats Black River 8-2

Midview Varsity Baseball capped off its regular season with an 8-2 non-conference victory over visiting Black River High School on Tuesday (May 20) evening.

Junior Daniel Melendez (1-0) threw four strong innings to earn the win. He scattered one unearned run on two hits with eight strikeouts. Senior Jacob Armburger earned the save after pitching the final three frames. He allowed one run on zero hits and fanned two.

Junior Kaiden Vogelpohl and senior Cason Pelko both finished with two of Midview's 10 hits in the win.

The Middies (9-14) turn their attention to OHSAA Division III Sectional Final play where they will host Olmsted Falls High School on Thursday (May 22) at 5 p.m.
