Avon take game one of the series against Midview Baseball 7-4

Midview Varsity Baseball lost a 7-4 Southwestern Conference game to visiting Avon High School on Monday (April 28) evening.

The Eagle offense got to Middie senior starter Henry Calcut (1-3) for five runs on three hits and took advantage of five walks over the first two innings to build a 5-2 advantage. Both of Midview's first two runs came on wild pitches. Avon add a run in the fourth, while Midview scored twice in the fifth. Junior Kaiden Vogelpohl had a RBI triple and the senior Chase Harper added a sacrifice fly. The Eagles added an insurance run in the top of the seventh on a passed ball and took game one of the series 7-4.

Midview was out hit 6-4 in the loss.

The Middies (3-11, 1-8 SWC) and the Eagles are slated to close their series Tuesday (April 29) at Crusher's Stadium. First pitch is at 4:45 p.m.
