Varsity Baseball walks off Elyria Catholic 7-6

Midview Varsity Baseball rallied from a three-run deficit in its last at-bat to walk-off visiting Elyria Catholic High School on Thursday (April 24) evening.

The Middies jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage with a double from senior Chase Harper in the first. The Panthers took control with a four-run fourth. Senior Daniel Melendez delivered a two-run single in the fifth only for EC to plate two of its own in the sixth. Midview trailed 6-3 with just three outs remaining. The first run came across on a one-out single from Harper, who finished with two of the team's six hits. The next run of the inning scored on a dropped third strike and then the Middies tied it on a bases loaded walk. Sophomore Jake Ellis then raced home with the winning run on a wild pitch.

Senior Noah Munshower (2-4) earned the win after giving up one hit and striking out one over the final 1 2/3 innings.

The Middies (3-10) have recently added a non-league game at home againts Keystone on Saturday (April 26) at 10 a.m.
