Holy Name holds off rally to defeat Varsity Baseball 8-7
Midview Varsity Baseball's late-inning come back came up one run short as host Holy Name High School won an 8-7 non-league match-up Saturday (April 12) at Cuyahoga Community College West.
The Middies out-hit the Namers 6-3 but could not overcome seven walks and four passed balls, which led to two unearned runs. Holy Name led early 3-0 before Midview tied the game 3-3 in the fifth. The Namers answered with a five-run fifth, while the Middies scored two in the sixth and two in the seventh. The game ended with the tying run on second base.

Junior Brayden Widenmeyer led the offense with a pair of doubles, while senior Chase Harper also had a pair of his in the loss.
