Comets top Varsity Baseball 9-1

Midview Varsity Baseball completed its season-opening Southwestern Conference series against Amherst Steele High School Tuesday (April 1) with a 9-1 loss to the Comets.

Amherst only out-hit Midview 4-2 but took advantage of four errors and 11 walks to secure the season sweep.

Senior Henry Calcut (0-1) suffered the loss after allowing three unearned runs on two hits with six strikeouts over three innings. Junior Kaiden Vogelpohl drove in the Middies' only run with a one-out double in the first inning. Senior Cason Pelko, who walked earlier scored on the hit.

Midview (0-2, 0-2 SWC) is slated to visit Rocky River High School on Thursday (April 3) at 5 p.m.
