Kate Kasper begins her second season as the Head Coach of the Midview Volleyball Program in 2022-23.

The Middies finished 8-14 overall and 4-8 in the Southwestern Conference in Kasper's first year. She spent the previous season assisting the junior varsity squad.

Prior to joining Midview as a teacher and coach, Kasper led Fairport Harding’s volleyball program for one season in 2019. She also has coaching experience with Maverick Volleyball Club.

“I believe the lessons I have learned as a player and a coach will help me positively impact the Midview volleyball program,” Kasper said. “One of the main lessons I learned while playing competitively at the collegiate level is that volleyball is so much more than just the sport itself. It teaches student-athletes the meaning of hard work, how to effectively communicate, what it means to work as a team toward a common goal, and that success does not happen instantly. As I take on this new role, I am excited to help these students become not only better athletes, but better people, who are leaders on and off the court.”

Kasper, a Concord Township native, is a 2019 graduate of Ursuline College, where she was a four-year starter with the Arrows. The setter compiled a school-record 3,618 assists to go along with 1,061 digs and 88 total blocks in 113 career matches. As a senior Kasper earned All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference second team honors.

“My goal is not only to develop competitive athletes who can be successful at the highest level of play, but to also instill a genuine love of the game in them,” Kasper said. “Empowering these student-athletes to be leaders on and off the court creates the championship mindset that is key to achieving any goal, from becoming a top team in the SWC to qualifying for the district tournament. The key to our team’s success this season will be buying into the process and building on the standard that has already been set. We have a great group of girls returning this season who already have a strong foundation of skills, and I truly believe that the sky is the limit for their success.”

Kasper, an intervention specialist, lives in North Ridgeville with her husband Matt.
