Yates to begin OHSAA District Tournament action October 10

What: OHSAA Division II Girls Tennis District Tournament

Who: Midview senior Katarina Yates and 15 of the other top singles players in Northeast Ohio.

When: The opening rounds are Thursday (October 10) at 9 a.m. The Tournament continues with the championship rounds on Friday (October 11) at 8:30 a.m.

Where: Springside Athletic Club (215 Springside Dr, Akron, OH 44333)

Tickets: Tickets are $8 for Adults and $5 for Students and sold exclusively online at http://ohsaa.org/tickets. [Tennis-Girls -->Division II -->Springside]. Children under 5 are admitted free.

History Made: Senior Katarina Yates (28-1) is the program's first ever District Qualifier. She finished runner-up at the OHSAA Division II Sectional Tournament.

Sectional Brackets: Singles Bracket • Doubles Bracket

Kat Battle: Katarina Yates will take on Norton High School senior Katarina Jovanovic (third place at Wooster Sectional) in the Round of 16. The winner takes on either Hawken High School junior Dani Forte (first place at Hawken Sectional) or Beachwood High School senior Mickey Zheng (fourth place at Boardman sectional) in the Quarterfinals.

What's at Stake: The top 5 singles players and top 6 doubles teams will advance to the OHSAA State Tournament, which runs October 17-19 at the College of Wooster.
