Midview Boys Wrestling advances two out of OHSAA Sectional
Midview Varsity Boys Wrestling opened its 2026 postseason slate with a tenth place finish at the OHSAA Division I Northeast Sectional, hosted by St. Edward High School on Saturday (February 27).
The Middies compiled 53.5 points at the 10-team tournament, which was won by the host Eagles after they had 12 of the 14 sectional champions and collected 334.5 points.
Senior Carrson Morris earned his third straight trip to districts. The second seed advanced to the finals only to finish runner-up at 126 pounds. Sophomore Owen Costlow will join Morris in the second round after he placed fourth at 132 pounds.
Sophomore Derek Cruz (120 pounds) and senior Braden Lehman (165 pounds) won their fifth place match, which means they are district alternates and will all await a possible invite should a qualifier not make it.
The top four finishers in each weight class at the St. Edward sectional will join those from the Avon Lake, Pinkey East and Clay sectionals at the OHSAA Division I Northwest District, which will take place March 6-7 at Perrysburg High School.
