Midview Boys Wrestling takes 7th at Austin Smiley Tournament

Midview Varsity Boys Wrestling placed seventh at the Austin Smiley Tournament on Saturday (December 13), which was hosted by Hillsdale High School. The Middies collected 123.5 points at the 11-team event.

Sophomore Owen Costlow earned the 132-pound title after finishing with five wins, including a 13-10 victory in the championship match. 

Freshman Joshua Schofield went 5-1 in bracket play to finish runner-up at 165 pounds. Senior Braden Lehman did the same with a 5-1 record at 175 pounds. 

Also competing on Saturday where freshman Kyler Hanchosky who placed fifth at 126 pounds, freshman Dayeton Skolyak who took sixth at 183 pounds and senior Mateo Rodriguez who finished sixth at 190 pounds. 

The Middies are back in action Thursday (December 18) when they visit Berea-Midpark High School for a Southwestern Conference dual match. Action will begin with the girls at 6 p.m.
