Midview Wrestliing Has 3 Sectional Champions; Qualifies 6 to District Tournament
Midview High School Boys Wrestling collected a Lorain County-best three OHSAA Sectional Champions and had 6 of its 10 wrestlers advanced out of the OHSAA Avon Lake Sectional Tournament on Saturday (February 24) afternoon. [Complete Results]
All three Middie seniors—Hunter Anderson (150 pounds), Gabriel Borror (165 pounds) and Austin Dye (285 pounds)—swept their respective brackets to earn one of the four top seeds at the OHSAA Northwest District Tournament, which will be hosted by Perrysburg High School March 1-2.
Joining the seniors at Districts will be a sophomore Carrson Morris (120 pounds), junior Gage Baribeau (138 pounds) and junior Nathanial Shenberger (190 pounds). All three finished fourth at the Sectional and will open District competition against a Sectional Champion.
Sophomore Gatlin Hassler (126 pounds) and junior Aaron Cole (132 pounds) finished fifth and will be District Alternates for second-year Head Coach Paul Steele's team.
