Geyer and Wirth qualify for regionals on first day of OHSAA Division II District Championship
Midview Varsity Track and Field produced a pair of Regional Qualifiers on the first day of the OHSAA Division II District Championship, hosted by Amherst Steele High School, on Wednesday (May 20) evening.
Senior Isabel Geyer posted the top finish of the night and qualified for the next round by placing third in the Shot Put with a mark of 37-03.00. She accounted for all six of the Middie girls' team points thus far.
Junior Jeffrey Wirth joined Geyer in qualifying for next week by taking fourth in the Discus Throw with a mark of 162-06. Junior Blake Butts earned three points for the squad after placing sixth in the Discus Throw with a personal-best 151-09 performance. Junior Anderson Bennett added a seventh place finish in the Pole Vault after clearing a personal best 11-06.00 to give the Middies boys 10 team points after night one.
The District Championship will conclude on Friday (May 22) beginning with the field events at 4 p.m. The running events will kickoff at 5:30 p.m.
