Midview Track and Field competes at Bell Invitational
Midview Varsity Track and Field had its boys finish fifth (49.5 points) and girls take sixth (59 points) at the Bell Invitational, hosted by Rocky River High School on Friday (May 8) night. The meet featured up to three individuals from each school per event as well as one relay entry.
The Middies collected six top-three performances, highlighted by junior Jeffrey Wirth winning both the Shot Put (53-11.00) and Discus Throw (169-08) at the eight team event. Senior Isabel Geyer took runner-up in the Shot Put (39-02.00). Junior Cora Vance placed second (59.46), while sophomore Hannah Bacskay was third (59.89) in the 400m Dash. Junior Blake Butts also earned a top three finish in the Discus Throw (149-06).
The Middies now turn their attention to the Southwestern Conference Championship, which begins Wednesday (May 13) at Amherst Steele High School. Field events start at 4 p.m. Running events kickoff at 5:30 p.m.
