Midview Track and Field spits spring break dual with host Avon

Midview Varsity Track and Field opened its Southwestern Conference schedule with a dual meet at Avon High School on Wednesday (April 8). The Middie girls defeated the Eagles 55-48, while the boys fell to the hosts 91-27. Neither team was a full strength due to spring break.

Sophomore Molly Ockuly won the 400m Dash (1:06.84), and junior Madelyn Czellath won the 800m Run (2:44.27). Junior Audrey Gerber, junior Leah McKay, sophomore Hannah Bacskay and sophomoren Leila Morgan ran unopposed in the 4x100m Relay (50.48), while Czellath, Bacskay, sophomore Sophia Morgan and junior Payton Morgan did the same in the 4x400m Relay (5:06.33). Junior Ava Hamm was the sole competitor in the high jump (4-8.00) and long jump (14-01.00). Junior Maya Nimer had the same happen to her in the pole vault and cleared 8-00.00. Senior Isabel Geyer, meanwhile, won the Shot Put (35-10).

On the boy's side, senior Samuel Estes won the high jump (5-0.00), sophomore Hayden Maxwell won the 1600m Run (5:10.35), and sophomore Joseph Jamison won the 400m Run (55.54).

Midview concludes its spring break by hosting the seventh edition of the Shipwreck Invitational on Friday (April 10). Field events begin at 4:30 p.m. and running event at 5 p.m.
