Midview Track and Field competes in rank-soaked first day of OHSAA District Championship
Midview Varsity Track and Field participated in a rainy day one of the 2025 OHSAA Division I District Championship, hosted by Avon High School on Wednesday (May 21) evening.
Wet conditions forced the postponement of the Boys Pole Vault, Boys Discus Throw, Boys Long Jump, Girls Shot Put and Girls High Jump as well as the 300m Hurdles prelims.
The Middies had both senior Logan Bier and senior Nolan Roth advance out of the prelims in the Boys 110m Hurdles. Bier finished fourth (15.56) and Roth took sixth (15.70).
The Girls 4x100m Relay also moved on to the finals after posting the third-best preliminary time. Freshman Hannah Bacskay, sophomore Ava Hamm, sophomore Leah McKay and sophomore Cora Vance finished in 50.84 seconds. Bacskay (4th / 26.56) and Vance (6th / 27.20) also advanced to the finals in the 200m Dash. Freshman Molly Ockuly, Bacskay, freshman Leila Morgan and Vance closed the evening by advancing to the finals in the 4x400m Relay. They took sixth (4:15.06).
The postponed field events are tenatively slated to begin Friday (May 23) at 1 p.m. Friday's original schedule is set to pick up with the remaining field events at 4 p.m. The finals of the running events at 5:30 p.m.
