Middies finish 8th at LCAAA Track and Field Invitational
Midview Varsity Track and Field posted an 8th place finish in both the boys and girls events at the 2025 Lorain County Athletic Administrators Association (LCAAA) Track and Field Invitational Thursday (April 17) at Amherst Steele High School.
The Middies scored in 8-of-17 boys and 7-of-17 girls events. The Boys collected 35.5 points, while the Girls had 42 points. Avon High School swept the event with 105 points on the boy's side and 192 points in the girl's competition.
Senior Sigurd Hansen took third in the 800m Run (2:02.76). Seniors Nolan Roth (15.55) and Logan Bier (15.57) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 110m Hurdles. Bier also finished third in the 300m Hurdles (41.93). The 4x200m Relay took seventh (1:34.04). The 4x400m Relay finished sixth (3:39.42). Junior Lukas Kowalski was fourth in the Pole Vault (12-0). Sophomore Jeffrey Wirth took seventh in the Shut Put (139-1). Senior Makai Massey placed eighth in the Discus (45-4).
Sophomore Cora Vance placed fourth in the 100m Dash (26.47). The 4x100m Relay finished runner-up (51.21). The 4x400m Relay took fourth (4:22.08). The 4x800m Relay was fifth (10:58.08). Sophomores Jillian Hubbard
(4-10) and Ava Hamm (4-8) took fourth and fifth, respectively, in the High Jump. Hamm also placed eighth in the Long Jump (15-1.5). Senior Mkennzie Bennett was fourth (8-6), while freshman Hannah Bacskay was sixth (7-6) in the Pole Vault.
The Middies host Olmsted Falls High School on Wednesday (April 23) at 4:30 p.m.
