Girls Track defeats Elyria; Boys Track falls to Pioneers
Midview Track and Field competed in a Southwestern Conference dual at Elyria High School on Monday (April 15) evening. The Middie girls defeated the Pioneers 71-56, while the boys fell 73-64.
The Middie girls had 10 event champions. The 4x800m, which featured freshmen Cadence Dellisanti, Leila Morgan and Molly Ockuly and sophomore Madelyn Czellath, won but no time was recorded. Freshman Emma Schriver won the 100m Hurdles (20.24) and 300m Hurdles (56.24). Sophomore Cora Vance won the 100m Dash (12.87). Sophomore Alison Winslow won the 800m Run (2:44.10). Freshman Hannah Bacskay won the 200m Dash (26.43). Sophomore Leah McKay, Ockuly, Bacskay and Vance won the 4x400m Relay (4:21.52). Morgan won the High Jump (4-3). Junior Isabel Geyer won the Shot Put (30-09.5). Senior Mkennzie Bennett won the Pole Vault (8-0).
Midview's boys compiled seven event champions. Senior Logan Bier won the 110m Hurdles (15.84) and 300m Hurdles (45.56). Junior Christopher Payne won the 400m Dash (57.12). Junior Samuel Estes won the 3200m Run (11.48). Sophomore Gage Weaver, freshman Andrew Morris, sophomore Logan Edgell and junior Kaiden Vonya won the 4x200m Relay (1:33.37). Morris, senior Gage Baribeau, Bier and Egdell won the 4x400m Relay (3:42.81). Junior Lukas Kowalski
won the Pole Vault (12-0).
Varsity Track and Field participates in the Lorain County Athletic Administrators Association (LCAAA) Invitational, hosted by Amherst Steele High School, on Thursday (April 17). Action begins at 3:30 p.m.
