Boys Place 5th and Girls Take 7th at Polar Bear Relays

Midview Varsity Track and Field competed at the Polar Bear Relays, hosted by Margaretta High School on Saturday (April 5) morning. The Middies boys finished fifth with 46 points, while the girls took seventh with 23 points at the 11-team event that utiilized relay scoring. Relay scoring combines the placement of all three teammates in each field event. Midview had four top-three placements on the day.

Junior Isabel Geyer placed third in the Shot Put with a throw of 31-04.00. 

Sophomore Jeffrey Wirth was runner-up in the Boys Discus with a toss of 134-07.

Senior Logan Bier, sophomore Logan Edgell, senior Nolan Roth and senior Gage Baribeau combined to finish runner-up in the 4x100m Shuttle Hurdles with a time of 1:02.20.

Sophomore Ava Hamm, sophomore Leah McKay, freshman Hannah Bacskay and sophomore Cora Vance took second place with a time of 51.31 seconds.

The Boys Long Jump trio of senior Sigurd Hansen (8th / 19-05.00), junior Kaiden Vonya (12th / 17-10.00) and freshman Nathan Sooy (22nd / 15-11.00) combined to take runner-up.

The Middies visit Berea-Midpark High School for a Southwestern Conference dual on Wednesday (April 9) at 4:30 p.m. The meet will take place Berea-Midpark Middle School.
