Track Field places third at Mixed Meet Quad
Midview Varsity Track and Field christened the new track as well as Discus and Shot Put area on campus with the second annual Mixed Meet Quad on Thursday (April 3) inside Adelsberg Stadium.
Buckeye High School, North Ridgeville High School and Olmsted Falls High School joined the Middies for the fun-filled early-season event. The Bucks claimed the title with 135 points, while the Rangers were runner-up with 115.5 points. The Middies followed with 108.5 points and the Bulldogs collected 93 points when totaling the boys and girls points with the mixed relay points.
Midview won seven of the 30 events on the day. Senior Logan Bier won the 100m Hurdles in 16.18. Sophomores Ava Hamm and Leah McKay combined with junior Gage Weaver and senior Nolan Roth to win the 4x100m Relay with a time of 47.92 seconds. Hamm also won the Girls Long Jump after leaping 15-0.75. Junior Alison Winslow won the Girls 800m Run in 2:49.04. Sophomore Cora Vance won the Girls 200m Dash in 27.10 seconds. Sophomore Jeffrey Wirth won the Boys Discus with a mark of 139-1. Junior Isabel Geyer won the Girls Shot Put with a toss of 33-5.50.
The Middies are back in action Saturday (April 5) at the Polar Bear Relays, hosted by Margaretta High School at 10 a.m.
