Varsity softball drops non-league game at Chardon

Midview Varsity Softball rounded out its regular season with a 10-6 loss to host Chardon High School on Monday (May 12) afternoon.

The Hilltoppers took an early 2-0 lead and then led 10-2 after an 8-run explosion in the third. The Middies began their comeback with a run in the fifth and three more in the seventh before running out of outs.

Senior Briana Farkas finished 3-for-4, while sophomore Dezirae Thomas and sophomore Savannah Presser both added a pair of hits in the game. Freshman Jillian Vandersluis took the loss after allowing nine runs (one earned) on six hits with five strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.

The Middies (7-10) now turn their attention to OHSAA Division III play when they visit Rocky River High School for a Sectional Final on Thursday (May 15) at 5 p.m.
