Avon defeats Varsity Softball 4-2

Midview Varsity Softball dropped a 4-2 Southwestern Conference game at Avon High School Thursday (April 24) evening.

The Eagles scored a run in the bottom of the first, before the Middies jumped ahead 2-1 on a two-run single by sophomore Dezirae Thomas in the fourth. Avon regained the lead for good in the fifth and then tacked on an insurance run in the sixth.

Sophomore Savannah Presser finished with three of the team's six hits in the loss. Sophomore Savannah Holcomb (4-8) took the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits with six strikeouts over five innings.

The Middies (4-8, 3-7 SWC) will take on Padua Franciscan High School in the Prebis Classic at Victory Park on Friday (April 25) at 5 p.m.
