Varsity Softball out slugs Elyria 14-5

Midview Varsity Softball defeated host Elyria High School 14-5 in Southwestern Conference action Wednesday (April 9) afternoon.

The Middies' offense exploded for 20 hits and put up crooked numbers in five of the seven innings. Junior catcher Olivia Keenan finished 5-for-5 with a double, a triple and 3 RBI. Junior Nina Ballachino
was 4-for-5 with a home run and 3 RBI. Junior Savannah Holcomb added three hits, including a double, while senior Briana Farkas and sophomore Mallory Hechko added two hits apiece.

Holcomb (1-4) earned the win on the mound after striking out seven without a walk over seven innings.

The Middies (1-4, 1-3 SWC) visit Olmsted Falls High School on Thursday (April 10) at 4:45 p.m.
