Midview Athletics announced the hiring of Tom Baracskai as its new Head Boys Soccer Coach following Board of Education approval on Wednesday (May 21) evening.

"I'd like to thank Superintendent Dr. Frank Major and Athletics Director Dan May for the opportunity to join the Midview family, said Baracskai. "I look forward to being a small part of a larger family that is striving to achieve the same goal for our student-athletes."

Baracskai joins Midview following a three-year stint as the leader of the Keystone High School boys' soccer program. During his time with the Wildcats, he led them to their two highest season win totals in program history. Keystone finished 9-7 in 2022 and then 10-5-2 in 2023. Baracskai's, whose career record currently stands at 21-28-2, replaces Kyle Milner, who recently resigned to take a teaching position out of the district.

"Being a Head Coach at Midview is an important role that carries a lot of responsibility and pride," said Baracskai. "Midview has a strong athletic tradition and being given the opportunity to lead the boys' soccer program carries with it the responsibility to create and continue an already strong culture that can shape young athletes, foster a competitive spirit and build on a program that represents the community well."

Baracskai began his coaching career at Christian Community School where he was involved in various Warrior sports, including basketball, soccer and softball. He then transitioned to an assistant role with the Keystone boys' soccer program before taking over the helm in 2022. During his time at Keystone, he also served as a board member of the LaGrange Youth Soccer Association. Baracskai was the coaching representative and county league representative for their board.

"I am excited to have Coach Baracskai on board to lead Midview Boys Soccer," said May. "I am confident that his head coaching experience and focus on communication, accountability and integrity will provide an environment where the program can flourish on and off the field."

After graduating from Avon High School, Baracskai enlisted into the US military. He later earned his associate's degree from Lorain County Community College and then a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Central State University. The police veteran currently works as a gaming agent for the State of Ohio.

"My experience in coaching and player development has prepared me to lead Midview Boys Soccer with confidence and purpose," said Baracskai. "I understand the importance of continuously building and maintaining a strong team culture, refining tactical approaches and ensuring opportunities for players to grow both on and off the field. Having worked with athletes at various levels, I believe I bring a well-rounded perspective that allows me to adapt to challenges and maximize the team's potential."

"My immediate goal for the Midview Boys Soccer team is a seamless transition, allowing for the team to continue and improve on the hard work already completed," said Baracskai. I'd also like to strengthen team chemistry and compete at a high level in conference play and secure key wins."

Baracskai also plans to utilize his youth soccer experience to develop a pipeline of young talent through youth programs and camps and is excited to begin working with Midview Youth Soccer. He wants to create a program that is not only successful in competition but one that also instills discipline, teamwork and a passion for the game.

"I'd like to build on the strong Midview Athletic tradition to become a yearly challenger and eventual winner of the SWC championship and establish Midview as a consistent contender in regional and state tournaments," said Baracskai.
