Midview Boys Soccer defeats Lutheran West 3-1

Midview Varsity Boys Soccer defeated visiting Lutheran West High School 3-1 Saturday (August 30) night inside Adelsberg Stadium. The win was the first for Head Coach Tom Baracskai as the leader of the Middies.

Midview wasted little time taking the momentum in the game.

Sophomore Braden Anderson won a contested ball after a Longhorn throw-in deep in Middie territory and quickly sent a 50-yard thru ball to a streaking senior Kaiden Vonya. Vonya then beat the keeper with a shot into the far end of the goal less than 4 minutes into the game.

Lutheran West tied the game when a Midview defender attempted to clear a lose ball in the box only for it to glance off an offensive player and past a diving keeper with 28:59 to play in the first half.

The Middies regained the lead for good in almost the same fashion as the first goal. Sophomore Arnuphap Promso sent a ball through the Longhorn defense, and Vonya finished it with a shot off the keeper and into the back of the net (19:57 1st).

Sophomore Andrew Morris extended the advantage to 3-1 when he took a cross from junior Seth Randall and scored with 18:21 to play in the game.

The Middies visit Berea-Midpark High School Wednesday (September 3) for a Southwestern Conference match-up at 7 p.m.
