Berea-Midpark defeats Boys Soccer 3-2

Midview Varsity Boys Soccer dropped a 3-2 Southwestern Conference match-up to visiting Berea-Midpark High School Wednesday (September 11) evening on Ross Field at Adelsberg Stadium.

The Middies took a 1-0 lead when juniior Christopher Payne scored off a corner kick with 34:21 to play in the first half. The Titans evened the score with a goal off a long free kick with 19:24 left in the opening half. They took a 2-1 lead just 10 seconds before halftime when their keeper sent a long volley down the field to a streaking teammate and that player beat the keeper to inside the right post.

Midview battled back to tie it at 2 when freshmen Arnuphap Promso finished off a cross in the box with 18:21 left in the game. Berea-Midpark, however, answered with a goal following a free kick with just over 5 minutes left to regain the lead 3-2 and then held on for the victory.

The Middies (2-5-1, 1-2 SWC) is back in action Saturday (September 14) with a road game at Normandy High School at 7 p.m.
