Jim Brabenec begins his 10th season as the Head Boys Basketball Coach in 2025-26. His career record is 107-104 with the Middies. Brabenec, who is also currently the Head Girls Golf Coach, led Midview to the 2020 SWC Championship.

Brabenec, the Assistant Athletic Director for Midview Local Schools, brings valuable playing and coaching experience to his first head coaching position. The former Olmsted Falls High School standout was a member of the 2007 Bulldog squad, which won the SWC and advanced to the OHSAA Division II Regional finals, as well as the 2008 SWC Champion and District runner-up team at OFHS. Brabenec earned All-SWC first team honors as a senior in 2008. He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2012.

His first interscholastic coaching opportunity came at his alma mater. He was Olmsted Falls’ varsity assistant in 2012-13 before taking over the freshmen job the following year. In 2014-15, he relocated to the Midview bench and served under the late, legendary Coach Troy DiFranco for two seasons. During his initial time with the Middies, he guided the junior varsity squad while also playing a vital role in the success of the varsity team. Brabenec has also coached freshmen football and track and field at Midview.
