8th Grade Boys Basketball wins 2025 SWC Tournament

Midview Middle School's 8th Grade Boys Basketball team captured the 2025 Southwestern Conference Tournament title with a 51-43 victory over No. 8 seed Berea-Midpark Middle School Lightning Thursday (March 13) evening at Olmsted Falls Middle School. It is the first SWC Middle School Boys Basketball Tournament title for the Middies.

Anthony Passerrello paced Midview with 24 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists. Kellen DeSimone contributed 9 points, while Noah Rivera had 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the win.

The Middies, led by Head Coach Mike Young, began the season 3-4 before winning six of their final eight regular season games to finish the regular season 9-6. No. 7 seed Midview knocked off No. 2 seed Learwood Junior High Gold 48-39 in the SWC Quarterfinal and No. 3 seed Avon Middle School Gold 53-42 in the SWC Semifinal to reach the championship.
