Gymnastics Places 5th at Flip For the Cure Meet

Midview Varsity Gymnastics opened its season with a fifth place finish at its own Flip For the Cure Meet Friday (December 20) at Ten Point 0 Gymnastics. The 8th annual event featured four sessions with the Middies competing against seven other schools in the final actions over a two-day period.

Chardon took home the team title with 123 points. The Middies, who had two of their three gymnasts participate, finished with 46.95 points.

Junior Kayleen Medina placed 13th while sophomore Maya Nimer was 16th in the All-Around with 26.3 points and 20.65 points, respectively. Medina tied for 8th on Vault with 7.4 points, finished 15th on Bars with 5.2 points, tied for 16th on Beam with 6.6 points and tied for 14th on Floor with 7.1 points.

Nimer tied for 7th on Vault with 7.5 points and 11th on Bars with 5.9 points while also placing 12th on Floor with 7.25 points. She did not perform on Beam at the event.

The Middies are back in action January 3 when they compete at the Wooster Invitational. Action begins at 10 a.m.
