Middies place runner-up at 2024 SWC Cheerleading Championship

Midview High School competition cheerleading took the mat for the 2024 Southwestern Conference Championship Monday (November 4) at Elyria High School.

The 2023 champion Middies just missed out on defending its championship and finished runner-up to Amherst Steele High School in both Tradition and Game Day as well as overall.

Midview Traditional started off the entire competition with a solid routine and earned a score of 87.8. However, Amherst followed with a 89.05. In Game Day, the Middies went fourth and collected 85.2 points, only for the Comets to edge them with an 85.4-point performance. Overall, Amherst won 174.45 to 173.0. The competition was scored using the OHSCCA model.

The Middies are back in action on November 16 when they compete at the Bowling Green State University competition.
