Girls Bowling takes 4th at OHSAA Sectional; Advances to District Tournament
Midview Varsity Girls Bowling earned a fourth place finish at the 2025 OHSAA Division I Western Cuyahoga County/Lorain County Sectional Championship Sunday (February 16) at Rebman Lanes. The Middies collected 3286 pins to narrowly edge Amherst Steele High School by 23 pins for the final qualifying spot in the upcoming OHSAA Division I District Tournament. The placement helped the Midview girls advance to the second round of the OHSAA tournament for the second time in program history and first since 2018.
The Middies posted games of 804, 726 and 783 for a 2313 pin total to sit in fourth place after the traditional games. The Comets sat just two pins behind with 2311 pins. Midview then added Baker games of 172, 164, 201, 167 and 132 to maintain its two pin lead with just one Baker game left to play. The Middies sealed their fate by outscoring the Comets 135-114 in the final game.
Sophomore Ariana Fedyszyn finished sixth in the individual standings with a 525 series (171-161-193). Senior Aubree Marchant came in 12th with a 510 series (153-161-196). Classmate Hannah Brady followed in 16th with a 489 series (183-155-151). Freshman Mady Schafrath took 46th with a 404 series (162-129-113) series, while junior Madison Gaspar placed 49th with a 385 series (135-120-130).
The OHSAA Division I Northeast District Tournament is slated for Monday (February 24) at Roseland Lane in Oakwood, Ohio. Action begins at 10 a.m.
