Bio

A resounding defeat by a senior laden football Wellington team left a bitter taste with a Midview team of sophomores and juniors that were destined to become members of two of the best teams in school history.

Highly motivated, the team finished 10-2, the following year. They earned a spot in the playoffs and defeated Revere followed by a loss to a strong Mayfield team. The next year with twelve returning lettermen and six All County performers including Dan Rozanski, expectations were great.

A 5’ 11”, 230lb. powerhouse, Dan Rozanski gained 142 yards in eleven carries in a 40-16 win over Westlake. The Middies continued to dominate opposing teams with the regulars sitting out most of the 4th quarter. In a 58-6 rout of Avon, he scored on runs of 11, 55 and 38 yards while gaining 143 yards. The last game of the season was a 56-0 demolition of arch-rival Wellington; Dan threw a touchdown pass in that game for one of the highlights of his career. Undefeated in the regular season, the Middies lost to Wadsworth 42-35 in a game called by many spectators, the best high school game they had ever seen. Three Middies, including Dan rushed for over 100 yards in that game. Dan

Rozanski received several post season honors including All State Division II First Team at line backer and was awarded the Golden Helmet award signifying the best football player in Lorain County. He gained 932 yards rushing in 92 carries for a 10.1 average per carry his senior year. Coach Bill Albright best summed up the impact of his 230lb. fullback, when he said that “when Dan Rozanski burst through the line in practice, the eyes of the defensive backs got as big as saucers”, and he subsequently blew the whistle so no one would get hurt.
