Bio

Rick Renuart was a three year starter for Coach Phil Sheffield’s Midview football teams. The teams he played on had a record of 21 wins and 9 losses. He was a bruising running back in Lorain County in the mid 70’s and at 6’1” and 190 lbs., he was the classic fullback and was characterized by one opposing coach as a player “who would as soon run over people as go around them”.

Rick started at defensive tackle his sophomore year and played well enough to make the Lakeland Conference 2nd team. He gained 343 yards as a halfback, on 71 carries for a 4.8 average and scored 30 points. His team had 7 wins and 3 losses overall with 6 wins and 1 loss in conference.

Coach Sheffield moved Rick to fullback his junior year and with quarterback Bob Vales, led Midview to another 7 and 3 overall and 6 and 1 conference record. He gained 942 yards in 201 carries for a 4.7 average and he led the area in scoring with 114 points. He was 1st team All Lakeland conference on offense and defense and was named the 1st team fullback on the All Lorain County team.

Rick’s senior year offered more of the same. He gained 1,046 yards on 255 carries for a 4.1 average and scored 88 points. The Middies had another 7-3 season overall and a 5-2 conference record. He was the All Conference and All Lorain County 1st team fullback and was named 2nd team All N.E. District running back. Rick Renuart ran for 2,331 yards on 527 carries for a 4.1 average and scored 232 points in his outstanding career at Midview High School. He continued his education and football career at Baldwin Wallace College where he was a four year starter for the Yellow Jackets.

Rick Renuart owns a home improvement company and lives in Howell, New Jersey with his wife Michelle. They have three adult children.
